Cod 4 For Pc, Works For Mac
Posted: 22 November This game is in my top 10 games of all time. 2008 was pretty much dominated by Call of Duty 4 for me. So why would I recommend this now? Well, it still looks good for a game released in 2007. The campaign is still surprisingly fun despite the occasional American jingoism. Even the multiplayer is still fun despite some shortcomings (hello grenade launchers and Last Stand!) I recommend this game because it was released at the tail-end of what the era of gaming was during the 2000s. Server browsers, mod support, customizable servers, free map packs, no lootboxes or $1 trinket items, that sort of thing.

You won't find that on a console version or HD remaster. And yes, youfoundasecret.wordpress.com, and if you've played any recent COD (Black Ops II onward), going back to the simplicity of COD4's is goddamn refreshing in retrospect. I recommend this because it defined a period in my life, and even though I didn't play the PC version until this year, it still holds up. Probably a better investment than Modern Warfare Remastered would be.

When i first bought this game it ran perfectly on my machine with all the settings cranked up to the max at 1280x1024 resolution and i never had a single bit of slowdown or any problem what so ever. Even on the multiplayer i had most of the settings up on max at the same resolution and my FPS was averaging at 65-70FPS which i thought was pretty good considering. However just over an hour ago i turn on my PC and started up some COD4 single player with the aim of gathering all the Intel from each mission. It all started off well then after about 10-15 minutes everything started lagging like crazy so much so it took about 30 or 40 seconds to switch weapon or turn 270 degrees. Naturally i fiddled and tweaked the settings, reducing the resolution and turning textures etc all down to medium then low and still everything was laggy as hell. Even with everything turned off or right down to the lowest setting the game ran for barely 5 minutes before it lagged up again. So i tried the multiplayer and low and behold i have a similar situation there aswell with my FPS averaging at around 50-60FPS and never even reaching the 80-90 mark that i have done at certain times before.
Then the slowness kicked in and while my ping said 120 which is the usual i get when i'm on a server based outside the UK the FPS was hitting the 15-25 mark. So i go and load up PCWizard, a program that gives you all sorts of information about your system aswell as tempratures etc and i see that my GFX card is at 47 degrees which i find a little unusual. Why do i find it unusual? Well because the PC is in a well ventilated area with a constant supply of cold air coming in and i regularly clean out the fans, filters and inside of the case to remove dust etc. Normally even in the summer after having the PC turned on for hours the GFX card & processor temprature never really goes beyond 37 degrees at most. So i'm wondering, is this a sign my GFX card is on the blink or that COD4 is broken?

I know the usual response to this sort of thing is reinstall the game but the game settings havent been changed since the day i installed it and the game has run perfectly up until about an hour or so ago. Please i need help lol System Specs: AMD Athlon64 x2 4400+ 2GB RAM Nvidia 7900GS 256mb. I have the exact same problem.
COD4 was running great and out of nowhere it starts laggin. When I first boot up my pc it runs fine after 10-15mins the lag kicks in over 120 up to 190-200 when it usually pings around 70-80. Also in singleplayer the same happens it slows down and becomes unplayable. Ive tried driver updates for graphics everything else, tried turning off any other program/process running. I tried blocking out my router to no other pc in the house cld connect.
Xlinksoft keygen for mac. Changed my router settings i.e. Wireless channels. I formatted my PC as i suspected spyware or adware, but it still slows way down after 15mins or so sometimes i get longer tho.
I also play Battlefield 2142 online and I have never had a lag issue wit it and still havent so it must be COD4. I'm thinking maybe I need a graphics upgrade but my friend has his pc at lower spec than mine and he has never had an issue. Before u say ISP another friend who lives close by uses same ISP and he hasn't ever had this problem.
Although my router is a fairly standard one I have ordered a new Belkin router. Any ideas wat it cld be?
Did u ever find a solution? This seems to be the only forum Icld find wit someone who has exact problem I do.
I doubt its the connection otherwise wat wld cause singleplayer to slow down? My Spec is: Alienware Area51 Notebook Intel Core2 T7200 @ 2GHZ 1GB RAM GeForce Go 7600. @TP Strange, I was almost 100% sure your computer was getting too hot, but 37 C is nothing. Is it 37 C when you play it? I don't know how accurate PCWizard is but try using HWMonitor and play the game for a while (I know it would be hard since you're getting terrible frames). After playing for a while check the app and see how high your CPU and GPU went.
If it's getting hot you may have to clean out your fans as dust can build up. I lowered my GPU by abut 10C just by cleaning it! Another thing that may have caused the problem is the driver for your GPU. Did you update it? It may be the cause of your slowdowns.
@ H1t0w3r I would also think your computer is overheating. Use HWMonior to record your temperatures. The problem is when your computer gets too hot powermizer will downclock your GPU/CPU to keep it from overheating. You probably need to clean out your laptop too. Hope my advice helped =). A while ago I had the same problem. I copied my Multiplayer data onto my desktop to save my experience and ranks during install(found under C: Call of Duty 4 - Modern Warfare players profiles.YOUR PROFILE NAME HERE.). It's called - mpdata. Try a fresh install. After you install again, try the game. This didn't work for me SO!
Remember this! Go to OPTIONS - GAME OPTIONS- ENABLE DEVELOPER CONSOLE 'YES'. Once you've done that, press the ` key (found under your escape key), and type in: /commaxfps 125 If that doesn't work.

Ask this forum again, but also check out the official COD4 forums. I think it's: Good luck! Thanks I tried that but my FPS was already set to max 85 I have changed to 125 and still no difference.
As for the the other reply how will it help disabling my human interfaces??? I was playin COD4 for the most of today and it seemed to run fine until my sister came home and turned her comp on, it must be eating up my bandwidth so I've installed a few programs on her pc and running 3 scans atm so far theres 248 adware/spyware infections found so that cld be a cause to the bandwidth. Infact when theres another pc connected to our router it slows COD down anyway even if I block their MAC addresses they still get a low signal connection to the router maybe it is my crappy BT Voyager 2091 router causing all the problems as I have said there is a Belkin one in the post so hopefully it will help. But that still doesnt explain why COD slows up in singleplayer exactly the same way it does in multiplayer!! Lots and lots of trial and error but hopefully Ill find an answer soon. I have the same problem. My fps is fine and then after a couple of minutes it shoots up to 4 frames per sond and at the same time my ping sky rockets to 999 Ihave an asus g1s pentium 2 core duo 8600m gt ge force with 3gb ram but i am running vista 32 bit.
I have found that my problem is actually my router. How i know this is i went to my brothers house upstairs and played my game on his router for hours and hours and it ran perfectly no problemsbut before i went up to my brothers i reinstalled the game 7 times and everytime gained to rank 55 after 7 times of gaining rank i got pissed and had the wild idea to try it on his router. My single player also lagged but i dont know how that is tied into the router. But somehow it is. Try running on one of your friends routers and see what it does this should fix the problem make sure he doesnt have the same make and maodel router.
